re:bulb fitment

This is our interpretation of the current law regarding vehicle lighting and should not be relied upon legally. All countries have different laws related to vehicle lighting - the information below currently relates only to United Kingdom All bulbs on the site which are not road legal are marked up as such - these currently include the dark blue sidelights and the Sportzblue high wattage bulbs. All vehicles manufactured after 1991 can only be fitted with bulbs with a maximum wattage of 55W/60W. High wattage bulbs can only be fitted to foglights and headlights of vehicles first used before 1st April 1986, or as auxiliary driving lamps if fitted to vehicles used on or before 1st April 1991. High wattage bulbs may not be suitable for some plastic headlights - but all the other standard wattage bulbs have UV blockers which means they are suitable. Overly blue bulbs, ill adjusted bulbs etc. are obviously not road legal. All Philips bulbs we sell are UK road legal. Underbody car kits are legal to be fitted and used on private land, but are illegal to use on public roads. Home
